A small number of Telecom broadband customers were affected by an outage overnight, the cause of which is yet to be determined, says Telecom spokesperson Emma-Kate Greer.
“There was a back-end systems error,” Greer says.
Approximately 2,000 customers were affected, and they are progressively being brought back online, she says.
“A few may have to re-set their modems, but not everyone.”
The affected customers aren’t geographically defined and the reason why those customers who experienced the outage did so is still being investigated.
