Former Vodafone New Zealand head Grahame Maher, who had also headed Vodafone Australia, and held roles with Vodafone in Europe and the Middle East, has died, aged 51.
Maher was CEO of Vodafone Qatar, a role he took up in 2008.
He headed Vodafone's New Zealand operations in the 1990s and early 2000s, after joining Vodafone in Australia in 1996.
Following his time as head of Vodafone New Zealand, he returned to Australia in 2001 to take the CEO role there, before heading Vodafone in Sweden and the Czech Republic, then taking up the Vodafone Qatar role.
A statement from Vodafone notes: “Grahame himself made a difference to the lives of everyone he touched.
“He was a great CEO, coach, mentor, and friend. We will all sorely miss his inspiration and vision, his passion and energy, and his love for all the people he worked with.”
