IT Manager of the Year finalists announced

Four finalists in contention for Award named

The finalists in the Computerworld IT Manager of the Year Award have been selected.

They are: Ken Biswell, Redvespa; Colin Philp, Gen-i; Ingird Cronin-Knight, Gen-i; and Richard Lockwood, ASB Bank.

Ken Biswell has been technical manager with Redvespa Consultants, which specialises in business analysis, for four years. His job involves delivering technical requirements for all 25 of Redvespa’s consultancy team. As well as being in charge of all the company’s systems and IT infrastructure, he is intimately involved with Redvespa’s own SaaS product, the BA Kit.

At Gen-i, Colin Philp is head of ICT operations. That role has seen him lead the development of Gen-i’s infrastructure service operations from an internally-focused ICT department to an ICT operation competing in the New Zealand outsourcing market. This large project was carried out over a year between 2009 and 2010.

Also from Gen-i, Ingrid Cronin-Knight is head of business delivery - service capability. The role involves, among other things, heading Gen-i’s End-to-End (E2E) Service Delivery Project, to transform its ICT managed service experience to increase client satisfaction, among other goals.

Richard Lockwood is head of infrastructure services at ASB Bank. He has been with the bank since 2006, starting as senior manager, network support. His time at ASB has involved comprehensive reviews of the bank’s network, telephony and security infrastructure.

The winner will be announced at the Computerworld ITEX Conference and Expo at Auckland's SkyCity Convention Centre on November 23.

The Award is held to mark the contributons of outstanding IT managers to their organisation.
