Oracle NZ reports 42 per cent revenue increase

Buy of Sun Microsystems boosts results for local subsidiary

Oracle New Zealand revenues for the year ended May 31, 2010, were $134.4 million, a 42 per cent increase on last year's figure of $94.5 million for the 2009 financial year.

The company posted net profit of $18.8 million, compared with $14.7 million for the previous year.

On April 30, Sun Microsystems was amalgamated into Oracle New Zealand.

The big revenue hike compares with static earnings for Microsoft in its most recent financial year (June 30, 2009) — profit fell from $6.8 million the previous year to $4.7 million — and a fall in operational revenue for IBM, by $17.9 million to $373.5 million, in the year to December 2009. The IBM profit was up $5.9 million at $20.2 million.
