Noel Simpson, Computer Brokers general manager, says his company is actively seeking out new technology partners and acquisitions to broaden his company’s solutions portfolio.
“It was a case of good timing as Omni were developing in Auckland and they have proven success overseas so we thought ‘let’s buy it’.”
Auckland-based Omni Solutions specialises in VoIP projects and computer engineering solutions.
Under the terms of the sale, Computer Brokers has bought Omni Solutions’ assets and customer base. The company’s entire staff has been retained by Computer Brokers and key staff and customers of Omni Solutions are being rolled into Computer Brokers.
Omni Solutions is a distributor for Zultys VoIP systems, a company headquartered in the US that has a branch office in Wellington.
Simpson says Omni does not have a huge presence locally and the Zultys distributorship rounds out his company’s VoIP practice with solutions for both ends of the market.
“We’ve done well with Cisco VoIP at the big end of town and will now cover all bases. From what I’ve seen Zultys VoIP solutions offer the quickest and easiest way for SME customers to transition to premise-based IP telephony,” says Simpson.
He says telephony sits comfortably with IT infrastructure provision.
“Telephony and IT are natural bedfellows. Their convergence puts sophisticated IP-based telecommunications within the easy reach of almost every business.”
Zultys includes a range of IP PBX private telephone switch systems, IP telephones, and supporting peripherals for VoIP deployment.
