Exchange-specific disaster recovery service unveiled

FRAMINGHAM (09/23/2003) - Evergreen Assurance Inc. this week launched a disaster recovery service for Microsoft Exchange intended to recover messaging and collaboration data instantly in the event of a failure.

Evergreen for Exchange provides data replication to a dedicated customer-owned secondary system and allows automated failover and recovery. When a failure occurs, the dedicated secondary Exchange environment picks up the workload from the primary site, so users can access data from the secondary site without interruption.

With the service, Evergreen provides an early warning system that notifies IT administrators when Exchange is going down. The company maintains two remote command centers, which monitor replication activity and support customer access to data.

The service monitors Exchange operations and provides users with status lights that indicate the health of the system. Administrators can view more detailed information from any status message. When a failure occurs, IT administrators can recover data from the Evergreen recovery environment by pressing a button on a Web-based console.

Evergreen's Exchange service starts at US$3,000 a month, depending on the system architecture and number of users. It is available immediately.
