Global restructuring has forced Nortel to cut back its trans-Tasman team.
Under the new structure, which became effective in January, the vendor’s business across Asia will be divided between its Carrier and Enterprise divisions.
Australia and New Zealand managing director Mark Stevens left the company at the end of January.
The new business heads for Australia and New Zealand are Anthony McLachlan, who leads the carrier business throughout the Asia Pacific and Greater China region, and Mark Fioretto, enterprise vice president for ANZ and ASEAN.
Prior to his latest role, Fioretto was ANZ general manager for the enterprise business. He joined Nortel in 1997 and held senior management positions in sales and marketing. Fioretto is based in Sydney.
The latest round of restructures follows news that Nortel filed for bankruptcy in the US last month.
At the time, a statement said the company expected to emerge from the bankruptcy process "more focused, financially sound and competitive".
