Vodafone New Zealand is laying off and moving staff around as part of a corporate reorganisation.
Confirming the sales staff reductions, Vodafone’s head of corporate communications, Paul Brislen, says the marketing department is presently being re-organised. He wouldn’t say how many jobs were going from there, however.
Less than a dozen technical employees, mainly IT architects, have also been targeted in the staff reorganisation.
According to Brislen, all the technical staffers have been offered jobs inside Vodafone and no redundancies have been made.
“Vodafone has recently restructured part of its IT department. This has lead to some roles being disestablished. However, staff have been offered the opportunity to apply for other roles and most have taken up that offer. We are still recruiting in the technology area.
