IDC New Zealand country manager Ullrich Loeffler says awareness of cloud computing is higher among local users than a year ago.
“In 2010 only 22 percent of respondents to an IDC cloud study have never heard of cloud computing, compared to 40 percent in 2009.
“This indicates that the general knowledge and awareness about cloud computing is increasing on an ongoing basis.
“That said, when asked how individual IT decision makers define cloud computing, a broad range of definitions and attributes are communicated.
“This shows that there is still no common understanding in the market."
