Telecom redefines HP contract

Telecom has written formally to Hewlett-Packard partially terminating its outsourcing agreement.

Spokesman Ian Bonnar says the details are being worked through and a decision on what Telecom will take back in-house is likely in the New Year.

EDS, now owned by HP, signed a $1.5 billion, 10-year outsourcing deal with Telecom in 1999.

Telecom's previous plan was to bring back in-house hundreds of information technology jobs outsourced to HP, as reported by Reseller News last month.
