FRAMINGHAM (09/24/2003) - Wolfram Research Inc. has enhanced its technical computing software Mathematica to yield improved performance of numerical linear algebra calculations, adding optimized versions of the software for various 64-bit hardware and operating systems.
Of particular interest to life scientists, Mathematica 5 supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard, which is the commonly used medical imaging file format. Mathematica 5 also supports .NET/Link, letting developers integrate Mathematica routines into any program that used the Microsoft Corp. .NET Framework for distributed computing.
