FRAMINGHAM (11/04/2003) - Ken Harris, SVP and CIO of Gap Inc., will leave the San Francisco-based retailer at the end of the fiscal year "to pursue other professional interests," according to a company press release. The company tapped Michael B. Tasooji to succeed Harris, who will work with Tasooji on the transition. Harris joined Gap Inc. in 1999.
Tasooji, 46, will report to Byron Pollitt, chief financial officer and serve on the company's executive leadership team. He joins Gap Inc. from The Walt Disney Co., where he was senior vice president and CIO. Prior to becoming CIO of Disney, Tasooji held various senior IT positions within the company. He worked with Pollitt at Disney's theme parks division, where Pollitt was CFO prior to joining Gap.
In addition to his experience at Disney, Tasooji was vice president of application systems at Bergen Brunswig Corp. He also has worked at Columbia Pictures Studio and Getty Oil Company.
The company also announced that it had hired Nick J. Cullen to serve as its executive vice president and chief supply chain officer. Cullen, 49, will report to Paul Pressler, Gap Inc.'s president and CEO. He succeeds Chuck Crovitz, who resigned from his position in July. Cullen's responsibilities will include global product sourcing, quality assurance and distribution for the company's Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy brands.
