SAP, PeopleSoft boost Q3 forecasts

FRAMINGHAM (10/14/2003) - Business applications rivals SAP AG and PeopleSoft Inc. both said their third-quarter financial results will be better than expected. SAP said its success rate at closing sales improved during the quarter, although the company noted that its total revenue will likely drop by 3 percent year over year. Pleasanton, Calif.-based PeopleSoft said its software sales, total revenue and earnings should all top expectations.
