FRAMINGHAM (10/03/2003) - IBM Corp. said that about 720 U.S. workers at its IT services unit are being laid off as part of a reassessment of the operation's staffing and skill needs. The cutback at IBM Global Services follows a similar layoff that was announced late last month by the company's software group. IBM Global Services currently employs about 180,000 people.
