JOHANNESBURG (12/01/2003) - I-Soft Solutions Gauteng Pty. Ltd., a supplier of integrated business solutions, was officially launched at a business luncheon at its new offices in Midrand recently. I-Soft Solutions is the distributor of locally developed ERP solution, Omnix.
According to I-Soft Solutions sales and marketing manager, Alan Jewson, Omnix is one of SA's fastest growing ERP solutions, and is ideally suited for the African market. "Omnix has made a huge impact on the local ERP market, largely due to its functionality, ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness," he adds.
Omnix is a fully developed local product, and can be easily tailored to individual user requirements, Jewson continues. The system does not require large bandwidth to run wide area networks, thus making it easy to have an online-based system to a central server at a very competitive price, he adds.
Omnix aims to offer full Financial and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) functionality, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, manufacturing, order entry, purchase order, inventory, warehousing and point-of-sale across a wide range of diverse industries.
Progress SA CEO, Rick Parry, says that the company's clients use Progress Software technology to build highly functional and scalable applications that are easy to deploy and inexpensive to maintain. "Thousands of companies worldwide rely on software applications built on Progress Software technology to run their businesses, streamline processes and enable better communications with customers, partners and employees."
"To compete in a volatile, global, technology-driven economy, businesses need applications built and deployed within an architecture that is as flexible as fast-changing markets demand. Progress Software products and services address these challenges by boosting developer productivity, by delivering applications with lower total cost of ownership and by maximizing performance and availability," he adds.
Progress Software-based applications are designed to evolve as business evolves, taking advantage of new technologies and putting management back in control of the business. The Progress product line is an integrated, component-based visual development environment, for building and deploying multi-tier, enterprise-class business applications.
Speaking at the event, Supa Quick HR director, Dave Harrington, said that the company considered a number of solutions, but Omnix was the ideal solution.
"Approximately 18 months ago we required a solution that offered a centralized warehousing facility, a cross-docking facility, and, on the retail side, we needed a business intelligence solution for 250 outlets countrywide," he added.
