McAfee to buy Secure Computing

Due to a reporting error, the story "McAfee to buy Secure Computing," posted Sept. 22, misidentified the spokesman for McAfee in paragraphs four, six, nine and 11. The spokesman was Vimal Solanki, vice president of worldwide solutions marketing. The story has been corrected on the wire, and the four paragraphs now read, in order:

The acquisition would double McAfee's revenue from network security, said Vimal Solanki, vice president of worldwide solutions marketing.

Until that time, it's not possible to make detailed plans for integrating the businesses and products, Solanki said.

"The strategy is for McAfee to become the single source for an organization's security needs," Solanki said.

Nevertheless, future acquisitions would remain firmly in the domain of IT security and risk management. "We're focused. We don't make video games. We don't do storage systems," Solanki said.
