JOHANNESBURG (04/01/2004) - According to Meta Group Inc., adaptive organizations need to absorb the impact of evolving technologies and the rapidly changing ICT provider market. It says that organizations must learn and apply key adaptive principles, and must be able to sense and respond to change across the organization.
Meta Group, host of METAmorphosis Africa 2004, to be held at Caesars Gauteng, from May 4-6, says that infrastructure, operations and business continuity, integration, development and Web services, risk, security, compliance and the like will come under the spotlight at the conference.
The company says about 400 delegates from South Africa, as well as delegates from as far afield as the U.K., Switzerland, and Sweden, will attend the three-day conference to hear Meta Group analysts from the U.S., U.K. and Europe speak on international trends and best practice methods for the adaptive organization.
Eric Cowling, of Meta Group SA, says he is pleased to have such enthusiastic support for the conference from local businesses -- including CompuWare Corp., T-Systems International GmbH, SAP AG, Unisys Corp., MTN, Micromuse Inc. and Microsoft Corp. -- as well as to be able to use local business for accommodation and conference support.
"It is great that we have places like Caesars, which will host the conference cocktail event and the on-site catering," Cowling adds.
Jean-Louis Previdi, senior vice-president international: Meta Group, will deliver the keynote address, 'The Adaptive Organisation Manifesto', covering why it is critical to be an adaptive organization now, how to gain a road map to become adaptive, and understanding how and why ICT must get "its house in order" to drive the adaptive organization.
The company says the conference offers attendees the chance to meet one-on-one with analysts through breakout seminars, and a timely and topical research agenda geared toward senior ICT and business executives. It says breakout sessions will include discussions on topics relating to:
-- Operations and business continuity;
-- Integration, development and Web services;
-- Outsourcing and professional services;
-- Risk, security, and compliance;
-- Enterprise applications and business performance;
-- Information management: content, collaboration, and analytics.
