IBM Corp. has awarded black-empowered group Smartsource Corporate Training (SSCT) authorized training partner status. The Cape-based company (with a network of business partners in Johannesburg) will deliver technical training on behalf of IBM in the Western Cape.
"We selected SSCT because of its professional approach to training and its active sales force," says Geoff Hubbard, senior manager, IBM Software Services ITS. "This provides IBM with an avenue to deliver an extensive range of ICT courses in Cape Town."
Matthew Costello, MD of SSCT, believes the partnership was a natural one, stemming from a mutual commitment to Linux. "IBM has on a number of occasions publicly stated its commitment to Linux - and SSCT is one of the largest Linux training companies in the country," says Costello.
SSCT provides companies with practical, professional and personalized ICT training services. The course offering includes the most sought-after skills in the industry, including Novell, SuSE Linux, Red Hat Linux, Unix and Network Security, Java, Delphi, PHP and MySQL, as well as Perl programming. SSCT will offer comprehensive IBM training. "All SSCT lecturers are industry experts, and we are confident that the training will be of an exceptionally high standard," says Costello.
