Unlike Google, Ananzi does not intend to list

Ananzi Mail (Pty) Ltd. welcomes Google Inc.'s decision to list shares on the Stock Exchange as a positive development for the Internet industry.

"This is a very exciting move. It shows that search engines are starting to be recognized as real business enterprises," says Mark Buwalda, MD of Ananzi.

The practice of presenting search results alongside paid advertisements has proven to be very beneficial to advertisers, particularly for small and medium sized enterprises, he adds.

"Ananzi left the Johnnic group about two years ago and we have seen significant growth since the move. This growth lies largely in our success with small and medium-sized enterprises, who find that advertising on the Internet allows them to react faster to potential clients," he continues.

"In Ananzi's experience, larger advertising agencies have, for the most part, been reluctant to take advantage of advertising on the Internet, but this kind of advertising has proven to be very successful, and we would like to see the Internet become more popular as a medium for advertising in the future," Buwalda concludes. Ananzi has no immediate plans to list.
