United Parcel Service Inc. and Yahoo Inc. Monday announced the integration of a suite of online UPS shipping tools into the Yahoo Small Business portal.
The tools provide easy access to UPS services and allow small businesses to process and ship orders in an efficient and cost-effective manner, according to the companies.
The UPS OnLine tools, which can be accessed in Yahoo's order management system, include the following:
-- Shipping, which is used to process shipments and print labels.
-- Tracking, which allows both merchants and purchasers to track packages.
-- Rates and Service Selection, which provides Yahoo merchants real-time access to UPS shipping rates for their customers.
-- Time in Transit, which shows comparisons of the speed of different UPS shipping services.
-- Address Validation, which is designed to ensure that shipping addresses are correct at the time the order is placed and thereby reduce costly delays and returned shipments.
Merchants who use the Yahoo Small Business portal can now access UPS OnLine Tools at the point of transaction in one location, the companies said. In addition to using the tools themselves to process shipments, merchants can offer customers the option of viewing the Rates and Service Selection and Time in Transit tools from the merchants' sites.
