South Africa specialist storage and mobility distributor, Channel Data has appointed CSS Tirisano as a Legato Software Enterprise Solutions Partner (ESP), further driving the local adoption of solutions that simplify the management and control of information.
CSS Tirisano has a long-standing relationship with EMC Corp., which makes the appointment a logical extension to the company's existing product offerings.
Legato was acquired by EMC last year, and now operates as a software division that specializes in Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions.
The appointment also forms part of Channel Data's Ukukhula (Growth) Programme drive, which aims to bring a new level of sustainable skills development to the African storage management marketplace.
Comments Amit Parbhucharan, technology marketing director at Channel Data: "CSS Tirisano already has the necessary skills and expertise -- through its partnership with EMC -- to successfully drive Legato's storage software solutions. We are very happy to have the company onboard, and look forward to future endeavors.
"In addition to working closely with us on a number of market opportunities, CSS Tirisano is also receiving technical training to familiarize it with Legato's offerings."
Through Ukukhula, Channel Data provides sales, marketing and additional technical support for partners as well as greater pricing differentials for the respective partner levels.
"As distributors of Data General's CLARiiON storage products in southern Africa from 1994 to 1999 we saw the effect EMC had on the CLARiiON's product developments and market share -- following the purchase of Data General by EMC. We, therefore, had no hesitation in committing to the sales and support of Legato," comments Gavin Padayachee, MD of CSS Tirisano.
"We look forward to promoting Legato's products to our customers with the support of Channel Data, with whom we have dealt for many years," he concludes.
