IBM Corp. on Wednesday released free evaluation kits for its software products.
The PowerPack evaluation kits give users a chance to try out IBM software packages based on development roles within an organization, such as IT project manager, architect, and developer. Tools are featured such as Rational products, Domino, DB2, and WebSphere software. The kits are intended to provide hands-on experience with what Big Blue is calling the IBM Software Development Platform, which was announced last year as a team-based approach to development.
Users get 90-day evaluation licenses as part of the PowerPacks, which are being made available as part of the company's developerWorks program. The company later this month plans live Webcasts relating to software development.
