Lexmark International Inc. has announced the arrival of the Lexmark C510, a laser printer that is claimed to offer brilliant color at a price that any business can afford.
While the Lexmark C510 is said to designed for the serious business, with a base price below R7 000 (including VAT), it remains affordable for small workgroups in enterprises and SMEs, Lexmark says. The laser printer is the latest addition to a line-up of color lasers that includes the high-speed Lexmark C752L, the Lexmark C752 -- which can easily be upgraded to a multifunction product (MFP) -- and the wide-format Lexmark C912, the company adds.
According to Lexmark, the C510 is a hard-working printer with impressive reliability, which will deliver powerful performance, superior print quality and extensive networking capability. This means that you will spend less time clearing paper jams, changing toner cartridges, or calling the ICT desk for help, the company continues.
"While the use of color in business documents has grown steadily, really robust business printers were often priced out of the reach of small workgroups and SMEs," says Hans Horn, MD of Lexmark SA. "We believe that we have advanced the business printing landscape with the introduction of the C510, giving customers an easy-to-use laser which provides business-class color at an affordable price."
"Powered by a 500MHz processor and 64MB of memory, the C510 can churn out up to 30ppm in monochrome and 8ppm in color. And those pages come with 2 400 Image Quality resolution for crisp and vibrant results every time," he adds.
In a recent report, QualityLogic, a benchmarking company, said that the Lexmark C510 is significantly faster than single pass color lasers that were tested using Postscript, the preferred data-stream for color printing.
"Against multipass technology products on the market, Lexmark's C510 consistently measured faster print times than each of the four competitors," QualityLogic says.
The Lexmark C510 is also designed to support Lexmark's software solutions, expandable memory and paper-handling options, and has an easy to use interface, Lexmark concludes.
