Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC) has appointed Dicoll Electronics SA as its out-of-warranty services partner to provide ADIC users with a South Africa repair and maintenance alternative.
Dicoll Electronics SA acquired its U.K.-based shareholding and became a 50 percent black-empowered business last year. The company specializes in tape storage repair, offering both on and off-site related services.
According to ADIC product support engineer for Middle East and Africa (MEA), Anton van Boven, end-users that have exceeded the three-year drive and one-year tape library warranties now have access to more cost-efficient and time-effective repairs. "Previously, customers would have had to ship products to Germany for repairs, an expensive exercise with a three to six-week turnaround time," he says. "With Dicoll now on board, ADIC is able to extend its value-add to customers by being able to provide an extended support service with a two-day turnaround time."
Says Jan Beukes, MD of Dicoll Electronics SA: "Our country-wide Repair Centres specialize in the maintenance and repair of tape storage systems, which include all the leading tape technologies -- from entry-level through to workgroup and enterprise auto loaders and libraries -- and can provide an express 24-hour repair option. We also provide a six-month warranty on all repairs, which is extendable to one year, as well as guaranteed fixed-price repairs and on-site services."
Van Boven adds: "ADIC is encouraging users of ADIC FastStor 7, FastStor 22 and Scalar 458 products that are nearing the end or are out of the warranty period to register with Dicoll to ensure a smooth service transition."
