Hershey Foods CIO promotes two reports

FRAMINGHAM (03/26/2004) - George Davis, vice president and CIO of Hershey Foods Corp., promoted Joseph Zakutney to vice president of applications development and Gary Yannes to director of administration and end user computing.

Most recently, Zakutney served as director of enterprise applications, a position to which he was appointed in 2002, and previously served as director of operations and technical services, and director of Hershey's SAP upgrade program. In his new position he will report to Davis and will have global responsibility for all aspects of application development for the company. Zakutney joined Hershey Foods in 1997 as the infrastructure program manager for Hershey's enterprise-wide reengineering program. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

As director of Administration and end user computing, Yannes will be responsible for managing all administrative matters for the information services function throughout the organization, end user support for all PCs located in the U.S. and the personal computer refresh program. Yannes joined Hershey Foods in 1982 as an associate programmer. He has held positions of increasing responsibility within information services, including application design/development/training, EDI manager, PC support manager and project management. He was appointed to his most recent position, manager of administration and end user computing, in 2002. Yannes received a bachelor's degree in accounting and computer science from The Pennsylvania State University and holds an MBA from Lebanon Valley College, Pa.
