Microsoft Solution Provider, IS Partners, has flagged the launch of its training division with Microsoft Reporting Services training as part of its developer's curriculum. The course, which is expected to be the first of a number of one-day sessions, will include an introduction to Reporting Services, related features and hands-on report generation from relational database and OLAP models.
Caron Mooney, director of IS Partners, says Reporting Services is a crucial tool in the Microsoft BI arsenal, and significantly reduces the costs typically associated with BI. "Reporting Services effectively eliminates the requirement for third-party consumer reporting tools, replacing the tools needed in the past for flat reports or reports with predefined navigation," he continues.
Reporting Services is designed to address the whole report management environment, and will report distribution in almost any format through the Microsoft SQL scheduling engine, including caching and storage of report histories, the company says.
"The course is aimed at developers and advanced users, and offers hands-on experience. Participants will, however, also benefit from the insight that we have gained through use of the product in real-world implementations and application of best practices," Mooney adds.
