JOHANNESBURG (03/22/2004) - Hewlett-Packard Co. South Africa Monday announced that current country manager, Henry Ferreira, has been appointed country Customer Solutions Group director for HP UK, effective 1 May.
HP says that current chief financial officer, Gois Fouché, will take over as interim country manager until a permanent replacement has been found. HP gave no indication of time frames for the new appointment.
The company also announced that, further to the organizational realignment announced in December, the company has now formed a "Customer Solutions Group" (CSG) and a "Technology Solutions Group" (TSG). This move is also effective from 1 May, HP SA says that no local appointments have been made as yet, but that they will be announced as soon as they are made.
"CSG will see the unification and strengthening of HP's enterprise sales force, which will sell the entire HP portfolio of products and services more effectively. TSG will combine the Enterprise Systems Group (ESG) and HP Services businesses under one single segment, which will allow HP to simplify its structure to more effectively deliver the Adaptive Enterprise, and enhance the total customer experience," the company continues.
HP's remaining divisions (Imaging and Printing Group, HP Financial Services, Corporate Investments and Personal Systems Group) are apparently not affected by the restructuring. Unfortunately neither Ferreira nor Fouché were available for comment at the time of going to press.
