FRAMINGHAM (02/26/2004) - Former Gillette CIO Patrick J. Zilvitis was appointed to the board of directors of StockerYale Inc., a provider of advanced illumination and optical products in Salem, NH. Zilvitis currently serves as chief information officer on a consulting basis at Segway LLC and on the board of directors for engineering software company Ansys Inc.
Zilvitis began his career with IBM Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966 and performed in a variety of sales, marketing, product, and general management positions. He managed IBM's personal computer channel when he resigned in 1983 to serve as vice president of marketing for Perkin-Elmer. In 1985, Zilvitis joined Martin Marietta Corp. where he served as president and general manager of their Data Systems Company - a $450M subsidiary that provided internal information technology services to Martin Marietta and sold timesharing, packaged software and integration services. Zilvitis joined Digital Equipment Corp. in 1987 where he organized and managed their global Consulting Services Organization. After that which he joined The Gillette Co.
Zilvitis has been involved with the Information Management Curriculum Advisory Board at Babson College, the Advisory Council to the MS/MIS Program at Boston University's School of Management, and he has lectured at the MIT Sloan School. Zilvitis graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in engineering. He later earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, attending on a National Science Foundation fellowship.
