Floeck promoted at Staples

FRAMINGHAM (02/26/2004) - Staples Inc. promoted Scott Floeck from senior vice president of retail and corporate information systems development to chief information officer. Floeck will report to John Mahoney, the Framingham, Mass.-based office supply retailer's executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

Floeck joined Staples in 1998 and played key leadership roles in developing customer-focused technical solutions and driving problem resolution metrics to all-time highs.

Paul Gaffney, who previously held the CIO post, moves to the newly created role of executive vice president of supply chain. He will report to Dave Perron, executive vice president of merchandising and supply chain.

Gaffney joined Staples in 2002 as CIO and lead the company's information systems organization and information technology investments to support Staples' evolving infrastructure to make shopping easy for customers.
