SAN FRANCISCO (02/04/2004) - Due to a reporting error, the story "First tests: Intel's 3.2-GHz 'Prescott' P4," posted to the wire Monday contained the wrong shipping date for Intel Corp.'s new Prescott systems.
The story has been corrected on the wire and the third paragraph now reads:
At launch, the chips will be available at speeds ranging from 2.8 GHz to 3.4 GHz. Several vendors are immediately shipping Prescott systems; the 3.4-GHz Prescott PCs will ship later in this quarter. PC World conducted tests on a reference system running the new chips, which are unarguably speedy.
