Annex launches K8T Neo motherboard

JOHANNESBURG (01/14/2004) - Annex Distribution (Pty) Ltd., in partnership with Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. (MSI), has introduced the K8T Neo socket 754 motherboard to the local market.

MSI covers an international network, and specializes in the design and manufacture of motherboards and add-on cards. The latest product is said to feature a number of 'must-haves' for performance enthusiasts, including Dynamic Overclocking Technology (DOT), integrated 5.1 channel audio and CoreCell Chip.

The major selling point of the new motherboard is that it is claimed to be Serial ATA ready. This means an injection of performance to enhance the system, and advanced users need only install Serial ATA-compatible hard drives to enjoy super-speed data transfer at 150MBps, the company says.

In addition, the Serial ATA ribbon cable is thinner and longer to solve cooling problems inside the case and facilitate hard drive connection, Annex adds.

"This product is aimed at those users who truly want to experience the thrill that only a high-tech, fully digitized home theater system can provide. The CoreCell Chip brings four technical features: Speedster, BuzzFree, PowerPro and LifePro. BuzzFree technology cuts up to 50 percent of system noise and improves the quality of audio and video appreciation. PowerPro is a power management solution that moderates power consumption up to 67 percent, assuring motherboard stability and LifePro detects and manages utilization, thereby helping to maintain the condition of the infrastructure," says Bill Gradwell, GM at Annex.
