JOHANNESBURG (11/25/2003) - JSE-listed EOH announced today that it has signed an undisclosed ICT outsourcing deal with SA Rugby.
As part of the 12-month agreement, EOH's Managed Services division in the Western Cape region will manage SA Rugby's current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, business processes and ICT infrastructure.
The deal involves a dedicated EOH technical consultant based full-time at SA Rugby's headquarters in Newlands, Cape Town.
"ICT is not our core capability, and it makes sense for us to build a strong relationship with a trusted partner who has the capabilities to manage our ICT infrastructure and systems for us," says Lorraine Hlapolosa, manager for corporate services at SA Rugby.
"EOH has a solid track record, and we have worked with it previously for the implementation of our current ERP and Business Intelligence systems. We awarded the deal to the EOH team because we wanted to consolidate our ICT operation. Additionally, EOH presented the best service model and has a staff complement with the diverse technical skills that we require," Hlapolosa adds.
EOH Managed Services will be responsible for the support and management of SA Rugby's complete ICT infrastructure. This will include hardware and software management, network security, network performance, disaster recovery planning, vendor relationship management, general user support, service delivery management and contract management.
In addition to this the EOH management team will assist SA Rugby with its future ICT budgeting requirements by making recommendations for improvement.
"I believe we won this contract because of our lifetime partnership approach, and because EOH offers a full spectrum of ICT and business solutions," says Michele Campbell, managed services manager at EOH Western Cape.
"We are pleased to have been given the opportunity to expand our services into other areas of SA Rugby's business," concludes Campbell.
