JOHANNESBURG (11/21/2003) - Local distributor Rectron has released the latest additions to Hewlett-Packard Co.'s (HP) scanner family range, the Scanjet 4600 flatbed and Scanjet 4670 vertical "see-thru" scanners.
Both scanners feature HP's CCD technology, which aims to enable high-speed "see-thru" scanning, without compromising quality or performance.
"The Scanjet 4600 flatbed and Scanjet 4670 vertical both ship with clear polycarbonate glass lids plus enable users to scan A4+ sizes," says Zandré Rudolph, HP product manager at Rectron.
The Scanjet 470 vertical design takes up minimal desk space, while the scanner pivots on a purpose-designed easel, and is designed to be placed flat over originals, thus enabling accurate scanning.
The Optical Transfer Materials Adapter also enables the scanners to scan 35mm slides or negatives/transparencies, the company says.
The Scanjet 4600 flatbed and Scanjet 4670 are both said to offer 2400 dip optical resolution and 48-bit colour for "true-to-life" images.
"The Scanjet 4600 flatbed can also scan flipcharts, wall planners and posters, and its auto-crapping feature removes unwanted areas of smaller-than-A4 images," he comments.
