LOTUSPHERE: Domino 5 for Linux to ship next month

Lotus Development used its Lotusphere Europe 99 show in Berlin to announce that within 30 days it will ship a version of its Domino Release 5 (R5) server for the Linux platform.

Lotus Domino R5 for Linux will be supported on two of the major distributions of Linux -- Red Hat Linux 6.0 and Caldera OpenLinux.

Customers of the Lotus Passport Advantage subscription license will receive support for Linux within 30 days, as part of the regular quarterly update to Domino R5. Additionally, Lotus is making an evaluation copy of Domino R5 for Linux available for download from http://www.notes.net/linux.

The commercial versions of the product will cost $US695 for the Domino R5 Mail Server; $1,795 for the Domino R5 Web Application Server; and $4,995 for the Domino R5 Enterprise Server.
