IBM enables management tool
By Nancy Gohring | Seattle | Monday, 7 December, 2009
IBM has made its Tivoli monitoring software available to organisations running applications on Amazon Web Services.
IBM already offers several other products on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), including DB2, WebSphere Portal and IBM Mashup Center. Last week, it announced that customers can also fire up Tivoli Monitoring as an Amazon Machine Image.
There are three pricing tiers based on the number of virtual cores being monitored, ranging from 50 cores on the low end to 600 on the top end. Users pay to access the monitoring software by the hour, depending on which tier the application they’re monitoring falls into.
