New capabilities to be added

Facebook and Twitter are preparing to allow users to share location information.
Facebook will add friend location information next month, according to a report in the New York Times. To be introduced at the F8 developer conference in April, Facebook status geolocation will enable users to share with friends the location from where they submitted their update.
Twitter is already allowing users of third party clients to attach their location to tweets, but the feature is still missing from the site itself.
Last week, Twitter briefly turned on the upcoming geolocation feature, which will show maps overlaying individual tweets and on the main stream, together with place names and users' location.
