Australian GM returns to the UK
By Randal Jackson | Wellington | Thursday, 29 July, 2010
Gen-i has completed the last parts of its organisational restructuring, which it describes as a realignment rather than a fundamental change.
The company says in a statement to Computerworld that, in the future, it will deliver two value propositions with different operating models.
“In FY11 we are investing in the tools, processes, technologies and capabilities…to deliver…hosted ICT services, delivering converged cloud and telecommunications services to all businesses and provide integrated ICT solutions which leverage utility services for clients."
“We have finalised the first stage of the migration and transformation of the existing Gen-i business to our future operating model and design.”
There are several role changes and new appointments.
Gen-i Australia general manager Phil Varney is leaving the company to return to the UK. He will be replaced by Paul Wilson, currently general manager of Wellington key clients.
The company says this is a strategic role as Gen-i strengthens its investment and focus on Australia.
Wilson is replaced by Connell Graham, formerly general manager of ICT solutions. His new role will also include the procurement business. Gen-i says this is a key opportunity as the government increasingly looks to centralise syndicated procurement of ICT solutions and services.
“The final structure for Gen-i’s ICT solutions business has also been confirmed, with a number of general managers taking on additional responsibility for the development and delivery of products and services,” the statement says.
