Petition handed over in opposition to Section 92a

Opponents of New Zealand's new copyright law gathered on the steps of Parliament today and handed over a petition to United Future leader Peter Dunne.
Many carried black placards, referencing the social media "blackout" protest that has seen users of online media sites replace their own images with a black square.

The Creative Freedom Foundation, which was formed in opposition to what it describes as the "guilt upon accusation" law, called the demonstration.
Section 92a of the Copyright (New Technologies) Amendment Act is the focus of the protests. It requires ISPs to have and reasonably implement a policy to disconnect customers who repeatedly violate copyright online.
