InternetNZ invites applications for directorships for .NZ registry

InternetNZ is seeking applications for two directorships at its subsidiary, New Zealand Domain Name Registry Ltd, which manages the .NZ domain registrations.

InternetNZ is seeking applications for two directorships at its subsidiary, New Zealand Domain Name Registry Ltd, which manages the .NZ domain registrations.

Two existing directors, Merv Delany and Anne Urlwin, are standing down at the company annual general meeting in July. This is per the company’s tenure policy, which requires two directors to stand down at each AGM.

Delany and Urlwin have offered themselves up for reappointment and the NZDNR board wants both reappointed for a further two-year term. However, InternetNZ president Keith Davidson says it’s the company shareholder that makes the decision on the directors, and not the board.

Davidson added that “we may find an applicant with skill sets which in the shareholders’ opinion are more useful to the board than the retiring directors may have.”

Directors’ fees for the positions are currently $10,000 per annum. Davidson says the fees are presently under review.

The directorship application invites were advertised on the New Zealand Network Operators’ Group as well as the InternetNZ internet mailing list, and the details on the positions can be found here.

Applications for the directorships must be received by InternetNZ before or on the June 14.
