Jason Paris takes on new role at MediaWorks
By Computerworld staff | Auckland | Monday, 1 March, 2010
MediaWorks, owner of TV3 and C4, in an apparent acknowledgment of the importance of digital technology in television’s future, has appointed as its new CEO for TV Jason Paris, TVNZ’s former head of digital media and marketing.
Paris was a key player in TVNZ’s move to digital technology; initiatives he has been part of at TVNZ include the station’s purchase of a stake in TiVo last year and the launch of TVNZ’s iPhone application.
MediaWorks has restructured its senior management team, with former CEO Sussan Turner becoming group managing director, and Paris taking up the new role of CEO of the two TV channels, and Belinda Mulgrew becoming the CEO responsible for MediaWorks’ radio stations.
While he held the title of head of digital media and marketing for much of his time at TVNZ, Paris’ most recent job title there was head of marketing and emerging business.
