Non-exclusive deal covers voice and data
By Computerworld staff | Auckland | Thursday, 10 September, 2009
TelstraClear has signed a five-year renewal of its contract as a preferred supplier of telecommunications services to Statistics New Zealand.
The deal covers voice, internet, domain and hosting services as well as wide area networking.
However, the deal is not exclusive. Other suppliers of telco services to Statistics include CityLink, Christchurch City Networks, Vodafone and Telecom.
"We were required to tender for the service as the previous contract was due for renewal and going to market assures us of value for money," a spokeswoman says. "The decision was based on competitive pricing and the provision of an all-inclusive quality service."
