Information management department manager writes: My job involves organisational budget management - $250,000 for telecommunications, $50,000 for printing and photocopying, $250,000 capital expenditure annually plus miscellaneous budget lines of $100,000-$250,000. I have 13 direct reports and four teams whose responsibilities range across software development, network infrastructure, information analysis, account management and our payment systems, which process $60 million annually. My company has 230-plus staff, 150 client machines, 150 mobile devices, and eight regional offices connected via a WAN. We have 15 servers and work in a Microsoft environment, with Exchange, IIS, SQL Server and ISA. We also use Citrix, MailMarshal, RSA and VMware. My job involves strategic decision-making and reports to the CEO. I am a representative on a number of national industry and sector committees and groups. I also do public speaking engagements at conferences and forums. I work for a management company in Wellington and have been in the role for 15 months. Previous roles include team leader, software development and network infrastructure, and senior software developer. Career highlights include winning two awards related to health IT. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Informatics (with distinction). I have been in this role for 15 months, but have worked for the same organisation for five years.

Enterprise Recuritment replies: This reads almost like a CIO role, reporting to the CEO and with responsibility for up to $800,000 in expenditure. Fifteen months in, assuming KPIs are being met and all running sweetly, we would see a base of $95,000-$115,000, a performance-based incentive of 10-15%, plus a $12,000 car allowance, car park, laptop computer and mobile phone.
