Domainz says it won’t be cutting the price of its .com domain names following accreditation by ICANN to act as a registrar of .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info domain names.

Domainz says it won’t be cutting the price of its .com domain names following accreditation by ICANN to act as a registrar of .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info domain names.
Wellington-based general manager Bernard Blake says the company will continue to charge the equivalent of $US35, the sum it asks for reselling names provided by other registrars.
Once Domainz is itself functioning as a registrar, customers will get better support than if their .com domain was provided by an overseas registrar, Blake says.
“They will be able to make support calls in their own time zone and know the phones will be answered.
“When they change hosting providers or want to change domain name ownership details, they want it to happen in a secure way.”
Blake wouldn’t speculate when Domainz would be ready to begin acting as registrar for the global domain names, saying it has arrangements to work out with several registries.
