Rangitoto College for its Electrotechnology courseware
Today’s students are used to having answers delivered in a short snappy way with the internet being the prime tool. Courseware was designed with a more 'internet' style of delivering an Electronics curriculm. By using a data projector, video camera, computers and internet access, a course was devised where students learn using methods they are more familiar with rather than the more traditional ‘chalk and talk'.

Andrew Diver has enjoyed a career spanning more than twenty five years with Royal & SunAlliance, now Vero, and is now responsible for systems development, project and programme management. His roles have included Group Programme Manager, Australasia; Group Programme Manager, NZ; eBusiness Manager; Manager, Sun Direct Insurance; and Assistant Manager, Organisation and Methods. Amanda White, Marlborough Lines
Amanda currently holds an IT Manager/Systems Engineer role at Marlborough Lines and has successfully completed a number of projects and implementations, including virtualisation, implementing an enterprise level SAN and maintaining/implementing various servers. Prior to this, Amanda worked for the Linton Army camp as a simulation operator, a computer trainer teaching the inmates at Rimutaka and Arahata Prisons and a systems administrator at the RNZ Airforce base at Woodbourne

Customers were experiencing delays, frustrations and errors in reporting as a result of manual information management. For individuals involved in a dispute these difficulties added to their burden and aggravation. GNS Science for GeoNet
GeoNet provides real-time monitoring and data collection for rapid response and research into earthquake, volcano, landslide and tsunami hazards. It is a collaboration between the Earthquake Commission and GNS Science. Hazard information is delivered to the public and other end users via www.geonet.org.nz. Extensive use of free and open source Software has been made to create a sophisticated and robust internet presence.

National Paediatric Oncology Steering Group for LEAP IT
(Late Effects Assessment Programme IT)
An online clinical tool to manage children and young people who have completed cancer therapy. The system allows illnesses associated with the long-term effects of cancer treatments to be tracked throughout the life of the patient, leading to better care and understanding of the patient’s medical history and at the same time providing a research database to see which kinds of treatments and therapies produce the best results. The passports allow young cancer survivors to move around the country and the world and take their medial histories with them should any issues arise in later life.

In rural areas like the Wairarapa there are few options for getting broadband and in many cases none. Canning & Associates developed a wireless broadband bearer service essential for the business as it means technical support can be offered to remote customers without the need driving long distances for site visits.

Louise Perkins Foundation for Sweet Louise
The innovative use of technology by Sweet Louise delivers information and voucher based services to those living with breast cancer. The user friendly system, which also integrates accounting and communication packages to provide a single enterprise wide system, makes management of operations highly efficient and allows the organisation to run a 'virtual ' office, saving significant overhead costs.

HM Associates for ActionStep
ActionStep is an application offering a complete enterprise management system through a web browser. The implementation has allowed HM Associates to manage all aspects of their business, including document and file management, workflow, CRM, email, accounting, and law firm trust accounting. This ‘one application’ solution allows staff to work from anywhere and at any time through any browser.
Most Successful Project Implementation:
Inland Revenue Department for its telecommunications review project
Over three years the Inland Revenue has deployed a new converged data and voice telecommunications network based on VoIP. It included 7,000 new phones to all Inland Revenue staff members, the replacement of the entire mobile fleet, the implementation of a virtual queue enabling call handling times to be reduced and the upgrade of the Inland Revenue’s internet environment and its core environmental telecommunications infrastructure.

Airways New Zealand for FlightYield automated billing package
Flight-Yield is the world’s first fully-automated, aeronautical charge calculation and billing package. It takes flight information from air traffic management computers, determines services provided to aircraft, calculates charges and produces invoices. It is real-time, highly-configurable and web-enabled. Flight-Yield was designed to meet Airways’ own requirements and those of other air navigation and airport service providers around the world.
