Fairhaven Primary School for the Lord of the Ring Rings DVD
Fairhaven Primary School in Te Puke produced a 53 minute movie- The Lord of the Ring Rings- a spoof on the real movie, of course. It involved over 150 children in all aspects of film making. Since then they have shared their learning with other schools and have seen the enthusiasm for the integration of technology in the curriculum grow.

The RNZFB has 11,500 blind, deafblind and visually impaired members, most over 65. Losing one's sight can cut your connection to the world. The innovative Telephone Information Service lets members listen to news, job adverts, and much more over their telephone, whenever they choose.

The University of Waikato for The Virtual Classroom
The Virtual Classroom is the result of the clever integration of innovative technology into the teaching and learning environment of an international marketing course at The University of Waikato. The technology provided a dramatic improvement in student learning as a result of technology-facilitated individual interaction with course materials and other students as well as faculty. This development has successfully increased students' time on task, reflective learning and performance despite dramatically rising class sizes.

Manukau City Council for Botany Library
In October 2004, Manukau City Council opened New Zealand's first "retail library" at Botany Shopping Centre. Fundamental to the retail concept is the smart use of technology, in particular the deployment of radio frequency identification *RFID). Manukau is the first public library in New Zealand to deploy this technology. By imbedding microchips into each of the library's 35,000 books, a 20% process efficiency has been achieved, resulting in longer opening hours and enhanced customer service.

PowerNet for their Improved Tree Management System
The system was devised to assist arborists in effective tree management. The solution offered in-field data capture that integrates with a database, providing arborists with instant access to the list of trees needing work without having to call admin staff. Being able to integrate cost code information at the handheld and load the required data back into the backend database, with no manual checking, plus maintaining referential integrity with the database has been an integral part of the success of this project.

Breath4CF for Fundraiseonline
Breath4CF, a subsidiary of the Cystic Fibrosis Association of New Zealand, designed and developed "Fundraiseonline" a website that allows athletes and supporters to build a personal website that is secure and has donation processing credit card capacity, from which they can fundraise for charity via the internet. Fundraiseonline provides the individual fundraiser with a number of unique and powerful tools that make fundraising simple and has resulted in an increased update, participation levels and value of fundraising received.
