Bravura deploys AppDynamics to monitor hosted app delivery

Rolls out AppDynamics for Sonata

Australia-based Bravura Solutions, a provider of software for the wealth management, life insurance and transfer agency industries, has deployed AppDynamics' Application Intelligence Platform to monitor and optimise the delivery in New Zealand of Sonata, its hosted wealth management application for financial institutions.

Through Sonata Bravura provides a range of services that includes superannuation, investment management and life insurance. Sonata is also offered as software for customer-installation.

Bravura’s New Zealand head of operations, David Hughes, said the use of AppDynamics’ software to monitor its hosted application had improved its ability to proactively manage service delivery. “It gives us high visibility into the Sonata customer experience, and enables us to pinpoint issues and to respond rapidly,” he said.

He added: “We chose AppDynamics because they offered the only unified platform in the market that we found was capable of delivering the complete picture – the ability to monitor a whole range of business metrics, including multiple delivery points for user, web, mobile, SOA services and batch. … It’s very straightforward and easy to use, and most importantly, it helps our business ensure our customers can obtain optimal results and satisfaction from our hosted software.”

AppDynamics said that Bravura was also using its Application Intelligence Platform “to enhance Sonata’s research and development program with respect to performance testing and problem determination.”

Bravura started life in 2004 with the acquisition of the wealth management business unit of CSC Australia with three Australian offices and 72 employees. It now employs close to 1000 people in 12 offices across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.
