Xero updated to save accountants and bookkeepers more time

Xero has updated its cloud accounting software

Xero has updated its cloud accounting software with what it says is “a total redesign of how Xero Report Templates work for cloud accounting users,” that will enable small businesses and practices to operate much more efficiently than with traditional rigid software solutions from legacy desktop vendors.

According to Xero, Report Templates represent “one of the most powerful reporting tools, developed to give accountants and bookkeepers the facility to design customised reports and save them for future use as templates”.

The company said it will make it more efficient for sole traders, partnerships and micro-entities to prepare year-end accounts.

Oliver Furniss, GM product marketing at Xero, said: “We have designed Report Templates to be intuitive and approachable, without sacrificing the features. This means partners can harness the power and time saving benefits of practice-wide templates, while still retaining the ability to customise the reporting outcome to the needs of the client.”

Xero says the new templates have been designed in consultation with practicing accountants. The latest release of Xero incorporating the new templates will be made available globally and demonstrated live at Xerocon San Francisco and Xerocon South next month.
