Samsung Electronics has joined forces with New Zealand start-up FaceMe, with both companies combining technology to deliver video conference solutions to businesses.
According to both parties, one of the key developments FaceMe and Samsung will work on together is FaceMe Rooms.
Utilising FaceMe’s platform and Samsung’s connected smart panels, FaceMe rooms is designed to improve the meeting room technology experience, simplifying the user experience with a single interface.
From this interface a user can run a whiteboard, wirelessly cast any device to the screen, or video/audio conference.
“Huge amounts of investment are made in meeting room technology by most businesses, but the feedback we constantly receive from CIO’s is that users aren’t taking advantage of it,” says Danny Tomsett, CEO, FaceMe.
“Most systems are too complex for staff to comfortably navigate, and therefore aren’t used as frequently as they could be.
“The FaceMe Rooms solution overcomes that issue with a simplified answer to meeting room connectivity.
“Whether it’s presenting content from one device to another screen or trying to set up a video conference session, our solution removes the pain points for end-users and will even work with any OS and connected device.”
According to Verdon Kelliher, Enterprise Director for Samsung New Zealand, both companies share a “mutual approach” to solving enterprise challenges around communications.
“FaceMe’s technology is simple, effective and reliable - paired with our best in class LFD technology and smart devices, we’re confident that this solution will have applications for businesses across the world,” he adds.
Samsung and FaceMe were connected through the Samsung Springboard initiative, which was designed to identify emerging Kiwi technology talent and provide resources to propel kiwi businesses onto the local stage.
“FaceMe’s solution is a great example of Kiwi ingenuity, and in the five years since their conception they’ve received excellent validation from the market,” Kelliher adds.
“I’m confident that with our support, and access to our technology for further product development, Danny and the team will be able to build global demand for their unique communication solutions.”
