Auckland-based Certus Solutions reveals IBM mobility offering

With 40 per cent of the workforce estimated to be mobile by 2016, it’s becoming a competitive necessity to deliver enterprise apps to mobile devices.

Auckland headquartered Certus Solutions, a leading IBM systems integrator in Australia and New Zealand, has today announced the release of its Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offering.

Billed as a "complete MaaS solution that includes out-of-the box and customised mobile app development", Certus Mobile provides hosting, device distribution and management capabilities to organisations, as well as device and data security software, and ongoing maintenance and support.

“Historically IT departments have faced some significant challenges around delivering mobile apps to the enterprise,” says Matt Smith, Director of Mobile Solutions, Certus.

“Developing an enterprise-grade app has historically cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and taken months to bring to market; then there’s the infrastructure costs, security concerns and ongoing operational overhead associated with maintaining and supporting those apps.”

According to Smith, the Certus Mobile solution overcomes those barriers to adoption by eliminating the delivery and maintenance overhead and Certus’ Premier Partnership with IBM ensures that apps are developed on secure, scalable, enterprise-ready IBM software.

"Certus’ application framework significantly accelerates time to market, enabling mobile apps to be delivered in weeks rather than months," he adds.

With 40 per cent of the workforce estimated to be mobile by 2016, it’s becoming a competitive necessity to deliver enterprise apps to mobile devices.

"Certus Mobile allows companies to leverage their existing enterprise systems to deliver what employees need, wherever and whenever they need it, without compromising on security or quality of service," Smith adds.
