Movers and shakers: New head of IS at Fonterra

Chris Barendregt leaves CIO role, and Carl Moore will head IS functions and the delivery of the global systems transformation at the dairy company.

Chris Barendregt is leaving his CIO role at Fonterra Co-operative Group after six-and-a-half years.

Barendregt told CIO New Zealand he will be taking a six-month holiday with his family before taking on his next role.

Prior to Fonterra, Barendregt held senior executive roles at Westpac and BNZ, and at EDS (now part of HP). He is also a member of CIO magazine's editorial advisory board.

Carl Moore, Director Global Process Data and Systems, will be in charge of all IS functions and the delivery of the global systems transformation at Fonterra. Originally from the UK, joined Fonterra as project director in December 2012.

Fonterra is number three in CIO100, the annual report on the top IT using organisations in New Zealand, with over 19,400 screens.
